I noticed this last year, and am noticing it again this year. We have little white particles in the pool. You can't see it when looking at the water from outside the pool, but when you're in the water with goggles, you see it. No idea what it is, and feeling like my water isn't getting filtered enough/properly or something.

I took some videos with my GoPro where you can see the particles. Maybe this is normal, but I don't remember it our first summer (This is our third year with the pool.) Actually, was just thinking - I installed a heater late last summer. I don't know if the timing coincides, but maybe?

I run our pump at about 35GPM for seven hours a day, seven days a week.

Most recent test data below.

FC - 7.5
CC - 0.5
pH - 7.3
TA - 80
CH - 210
CYA - 70

Salt PPM - 3600

And here's the videos - guaranteed to delight and keep you on the edge of your seats!

How do your SWG plates look? Could they need cleaning? I am not familiar with cartridge filters so can't speculate there, if it were a sand filter I'd suggest a bit of DE.

I once had white flakes floating in my one year old pool, but they vacuumed up in a snap and never returned so I assumed it was excess calcium or something.

I hope you can figure it out.

Plates look good, they were cleaned over the winter.

I just purchased some hair nets (Yes, hair nets) so I'm going to see if that helps. Not sure if the filter is letting this stuff through (Not sure how it could) or if my water just isn't getting to the filter (Not sure how on that either.)
