    Advanced Blue - APSP ??

I went to my local pool store today for a few chlorine tabs. My current plan is to install a SWG in the next few days. While there they tried to sell me on a water purification product called Advanced Blue. I have never heard of it before but they gave me a couple of brochures and swear it is the best thing since sliced bread. Does anyone know anything about this. This Pool Company said to stay away from a SWG for this stuff. Chem-A-Co appears to be the manufacturer.

It sounds a little too good to be true. They told me I would only need to use 18 Chlorine Pucks for the whole year with this water maintenance system.

    Here are their products -

    Advanced Blue

    Advanced Prep

    Advanced Clear

    Advanced Shock

    Advanced Test Kits

That's just another metal system. Advanced Blue is copper based. It may kill algae, but it does nothing to sanitize or oxidize organics like sweat, snot, and dead skin. Bleach does it all. http://www.troublefreepool.com/threa...ools-The-Truth!

Troublefree does not mean Maintenancefree. It's like brushing your teeth: You can spend a couple minutes a day and pennies a week or go to the dentist once a year and spend several thousand dollars.
A pool is like a pet - you have to feed it every day, even the days you don't want to play with it!

In addition to the metals, almost all of these miracle systems drive your cost of pool maintenance up. So, think about it - it costs more and doesn't do as good a job. Who wins?

Thanks for the feedback. I don't plan on purchasing the product. Sounds similar to snake oil.
