as i vacuum the pool dirt is spitting back in, and water is not as crystal as usual. Someone said i need new grids but after rinsing them and examining i see no visable rips or tears? How do you know if they need to be replaced? or could it be something else?

If there are no holes, rips or tears and the grids themselves seem to be in good shape and not collapsed or have damage to the support frame, it could be the O-ring seal where they go in or a problem with the valve on the filter.
