I take it out when it's done.i run it whenever the bottom gets dirty,varies with time of year.
Don't have any idea about it. I leave my Dolphin robot in a lot. Depending on weather (storms etc.) I run him 2-4 times a week. Usually leave him in days at a time, or out for a cleaning of filters. Once in a while, I will let him make a run, pull him out, clean and store. Its easier to put away when you have one on a caddy.
Nearly all pool cleaning robots are designed to be removed from the pool when they complete their cycle.

We love him so much, he's almost like a pet. I say...Poor Robie, he's got a rough shift ahead, and my wife says, make him earn his keep, if he burns up we'll get another one.
