New filtration system needed

I'm looking at purchasing a new system. I have an above ground 28 round pool

I perfer a cartridge system. It's what Ive had for the last 23 years.

I am not sure how much horsepower I need. Of course I went to my local pool dealer. And I just want opinions. The salesman said he has the same size pool that I have and he gave me his recommendation.
At $650.

I have just started looking so I'm not sure if that's a good price or not

Given your pool size and location (with a shorter season), I would suggest around 225 sqft or larger cartridge filter with a 1HP 2-speed pump. These may not come in a combo unit.

You will likely find a better deal online, although there could be warranty concerns. There are a few threads that discuss places that people have order from that you could search for.
