Adding Borate, why muriatic acid ?

Hello,
I finally found muriatic acid, but it' sur not cheaper here.....

For my 45 000 liters pool, for each add of 2 kg of borate, i must add 1 liter muriatic acid, or 1,2 kg dry acid.

Dry acid cost 8$ for 3 kg
Muriatic acid cost 6,50$ for 1 liter

Muriatic is more than 2x expensive here.....

Bye

That's unfortunate. Muriatic has less side effect, meaning dry Acid adds Sulfates. Undesirable because it can add to scaling with Calcium Sulfate type scaling, and although unusual, it can come out of solution and crystalize. There was recently a post about just this thing happening. Maybe it's a Canadian thing, but MA is plentiful here, and cheaper than dry acid when you run the numbers on it for a source of pH control.
