Anyone build a filter for a separate cleaning pump?

I acquired a separate pump that I am setting up as a stand alone vacuum pump. Currently I using a skimmer sock as a filter but I wanted to build some kind of filter to dump the water through and clean the algae areas while I open the pool. Has anyone built something like this?

At our golf course we built a vacuum pump system then plumbed it with a small cartridge filter and put it on a dolly like thing.

That would work. Now I just need to find a cheap cartridge filter.

You could pick up an inexpensive hand truck at Harbor Freight to mount everything to and it would be portable. Problem is that the only Harbor Freight is on the MD side of the American Legion Bridge.

The filter is a perfect size. Thanks! Harbor Freight - No way they opened one in Sterling a year or so ago.
