I took a CYA reading (<30) as it's been a week since I added ~2lb. I read 40 last Monday the morning after adding... Should I add more CYA? I am hesitant because I don't want to add too much. Any suggestions?

I also keep scrubbing my rock that is in the water and getting to new layers of green. Hopefully I'm close on getting all the algae kill that lives on it.

If you have been doing a lot of backwashing that is why the CYA has dropped from losing water and topping off. I would wait add more Stablizer to get CYA up as long as you have at least 30 now. Unless you want to keep FC at a higher SLAM level. When you do add I would target 50. Being in Phoenix you will start getting hotter pretty soon. I SLAMmed with my CYA at 50.

Remember to adjust your SLAM lever to 50 after you add the Stablizer. You will need to SLAM at a higher level. My SLAM took 13 days.

I've been targeting CYA 50 / FC 20 since day 1, I just don't think the stabilizer ever got close to 50. I shot low since I just drained for having too much CYA.

Man, I feel dumb after reading this thread! Proper testing, adding appropriate amounts of bleach.... I just dumped and brushed. When I go home, I should just throw all of the pool toys in, and put the cover back on!
