    Pool test results.... Whats wrong

13500 gallon plaster pool. Using bleach only.

    FC: 4
    CC: 0
    TC: 4
    Calcium: 200ppm
    CYA: 40
    TA: 90
    PH: 8.2

I know I need to add acid to get the PH down but I am still getting algae forming in the pool. What may be the problem. Already cleaned the filters (DE)

If you have algae, then you need to follow the ShockLevelAndMAINTAIN Process until you pass the 3 criteria to stop. The filter is not the problem ... lack of chlorine is the problem.

Looks like Chlorine is good- with a CYA of 40, you never want to drop below 3. Ideally 5 would be a good target to allow for loss to sun. Are you dropping below 3 before you put more bleach in?

First, get the pH down and then SLAM. SLAM lasts until it passes the three prescribed tests. Nothing looks bad in your results, except the pH and FC. The FC will have to go quite a bit higher UNTIL the algae is gone....

It sound like it will be a quick SLAM

I am first going to get the PH back down and then will start the SLAM process. Printed up the SLAM instructions and will follow its suggested levels.

Good deal. Just stay tight on FC residual after you're done, and you'll have no problems.

If it's green, you need chlorine.
