Round or oval pool for snowy NY

I had read somewhere and heard that buying an oval pool in areas that get a lot of snow is not a good idea because since the walls are straight they can be compromised from a heavy snow fall.

That round was better because it distributes weight evenly. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

I want a RESIN pool that is rated for saltwater usage and I'm debating on a 15' round or a 12'x20' oval

I've never heard that snow load was an issue. It is true that ovals have more pressure on the long wall than round pools.

Round pools are a better design for stresses but an oval pool should be designed to be safe. Oval pools have the straight wall beefed up with supports. I would go with what you really want and buy a quality pool.
