Amerlite Niche LED Upgrade

I have a 10 year old Amerlite Niche and would like to upgrade to an LED 12v Bulb. Pentair recommends the following -

I can handle the 12V wiring that is no problem. My question is how difficult is it to replace the bulb with water in the pool. I understand the bulb is kept cool with the water. If that is the case why do you need to replace the gasket unless that keeps the water out. Any advice is much appreciated.

I just don't want my pool to start leaking from replacing the bulb.....

Is the existing fixture 12v or 120v?

The water keeps the fixture as a whole cool; the bulb is sealed inside the fixture (hence the gasket). The bulb itself does not come in contact with the water

If you just have one light a px100 will be enough.

Yes you are correct, I believe the light draws around 35 - 36 watts. The 300 is overkill... But for the small price difference we have the option to add additional low voltage lighting around the pool later.
