Just thought I'd share my latest Solar Cover. I'm not sure if buying a 14 gauge cover was worth it, but it does feel heavy duty. My last cover I had cut into 2 pieces, but even at that it was hard to handle. My pool is kidney shaped with 2 levels around pool, so no way to do a reel. Here's pictures of what I ended up with and so far works real well.

Push Clips for attaching solar cover to 1.25" PVC pipe (drill holes in 1.25" pipe about every foot, lay cover on top and poke hole in cover with Philips head, and insert clip through into pipe). I also filled most of the pipe with Great Stuff foam to be sure it would float.

3/4" Foam board at end (this is a test to see if this stuff holds up):

I have the 3 panels overlapped by about 6" (largest is 15' x 13'). This is so I can sweep all in the direction to the PoolSkim:

And my rack which is north side of pool, so is in the shade:

Just start rolling it up like a rug. The 1.25" pipe is rigid enough, and the largest section is fairly light (maybe 25#).

No. The pipe is at the edge, very easy to just start rolling. Takes maybe 5 minutes per section. The 1st picture has section #3 removed. I've seen examples with pipe going across middle of pool and it rolls from both directions, but I tried that last year and cover is difficult to keep tight and pool lip also causes problems. This way, rolling from the edge, it's easy to keep cover tight and lip does not interfere. I have 15', 12', and 9' sections, all day to handle.
