in the process of slamming my pool, got home after work and pool has lost its green look and now is a milky white color.

went to test FC, got my water, scoped in some r-0870 and nothing. no change in color......???

I'll post a full set of numbers when I get back to the house.

That normally means that the FC level is zero, though now and then that can happen if FC is very high and you didn't add enough powder. If you have an OTO chlorine test handy, that is the most reliable way to see if FC is really zero, or is actually high.

haha I brought it with me.

my pH has been climbing very quickly as well. started slam last night and pH was 7.5

Yes, you should get the CYA up to around 30ppm so that you do not lose as much FC to the sun.

I would add about 20ppm, in a sock and put it in the skimmer, and continue to slam assuming you are up around 30ppm. Then in a week verify the CYA level.
