If it is Mustard Algae, Chlorine is the answer. It looks like it could be regular Algae, but in either case a SLAM is in order.
Oh, I've read up. Problem is my CYA is so high that the SLAM requires mucho CL, so I'm gonna try the BioActive CYA reducer first. (After I get FC down. LOL. Vicious circle.)

If that's a pic AFTER you brushed the walls, that is probably not any type of algae but rather calcium scale or iron stains.
You must identify the stain positively before you embark on a plan to get rid of it. Is it rough to the touch?
