Living in Arkansas, with the pool pumps on the west side of the house, our pumps get a LOT of sun. Additionally, with our winters unpredictable as they are (sometimes quite cold, other years -like this one- quite mild) we thought some sort of year round protective covering would make sense.
In the summer, we'll use the cover pretty much as seen EXCEPT we'll raise the lids a bit to allow ventilation. In the winter, we'll close the front (the front is a tarp that can be secured with screws) to keep rain / snow / ice off the pumps.
Our main goal is to stop losing pumps after 3 - 4 years - or at least, extend their life.
Visually, this isn't anywhere in the neighborhood of other covers in this thread, but it is out of view from the street.
