    Confirm boric acid amount

Am I correct for a goal of 50 ppm in a 20500 gal pool I need 50 lbs of boric acid? I will be starting with a new liner and water. Or are borates naturally present?

Re: Borates - Why and How

I come up with 49lbs, so yes. No, borates are not naturally present, if you haven't added any then there aren't any borates in your pool.

Right on! It is easy and seemed a little too easy when I started too. No worries, keep asking until you've got it all figured out. Your crystal clear water will convince you.
