Should I be able to unhook the cleaner from the side of the pool with the filter running? I have a booster pump and I turn that off but I'm not able to unhook the hose from the side of the pool if the filter is still running. I notice that when I do unhook the hose and turn the filter back on, there is quite a bit of water being pushed out from where the hose gets connected. Is that how it should work? I've got a pentair racer.

Yes, that is how it works. Sometimes I can unhook the cleaner if my VS pump is on low, 1100rpm, but not if it is higher. And no way if the booster pump is on. Yes, water comes out of that jet all the time when the pump is on, just a lot more if the booster is on.
