I've been using the BBB method in my pool for several years. Can I do the same thing for my new hot tub?

I'm ready to fill the tub this week. I was thinking about pumping water out of my pool and into the hot tub to start with.

I know a lot of people use bromine as a disinfecting agent in hot tubs, but I'm not sure why. Can I use chlorine?

You can use chlorine in a hot tub, but the procedure is a little different than it is for a swimming pool. Chlorine is not as stable at the higher temperatures used in a hot tub, which isn't a serious problem but it does mean that hot tubs need more attention than swimming pools when you are using chlorine. Bromine is popular because it is more stable at the higher temperatures and so less work once you get used to using it.
