New to pool care...

I am a new pool owner
I have a pentair clean and clear RS
Pentair auto feeder 320

I used the test kit and the levels are good as of last Saturday

I'm netting, brushing and having the great white vac running for 8 hours

My question a few questions.

1.Do I ever run the skimmer if my pool vac is running(vac is attached to the vaccum port,
Skimmer is plugged up)

2.I have pollen like crazy and my filter is green every day. But so is my car if under a tree.
Is there anything I should be doing differently?

3. I have the auto feeder at 5 setting for the past week

I know it's not polite to answer a question with a question....but I have to.

What test kit are you using?
http://www.troublefreepool.com/content/124-pool-test-kits-comparison I strongly recommend the TF100

1. I don't understand your question. If the skimmer is plugged up while the pool vac is running, how could you have both going? removing the plug? this will basically just decrease the amount of suction your pool vac has.

2. pollen is green? pics of filter? how does the water look? Do you have a full set of test results for us? if so please post them. We don't really have much pollen in the Desert, so I'll let others comment...but the green statement makes me want to know more about your pool chems levels.

3. Auto feeder, I assume you're using a solid chlorine product?

also, adding info about your pool into your signature will greatly help us assist you in the future.

Since I also live in pollen-ville I can comment on the pollen. This has been a crazy high pollen spring. My old truck parked by the barn was green and fuzzy, had to move it out from under the tree and out into the rain! Nothing extra to do with the pollen except clean the filter a little more if it gets clogged up and test your chlorine daily to make sure it is good. The good news is that our pollen green fog is over now, so maybe yours will be soon.

Yep, lots of pollen here too... I got a thick ring of it all the way around the pool at the water line. Washed it down with a rag (rinsing in a 5 gal bucket to avoid too much of it going back into the pool). I use one of those basket socks. That catches a good bit of it. Not sure of the sock is helping my sand filter or not but it makes me feel good to rinse it out the yellow every now and then.

The great white is attached to the vac port. The instructions on the vac say to plug with skimmer with their device forgot what it's caled. I go to the pump and open up the vac pipe valve and move thediverter valve from neutral position to close off main drain. So at this point main drain and skimmer are plugged and suction is full in vac port.

2. pollen is green? Yes in Florida it's a greenish yellow
pics of filter? Will take one tonight
how does the water look? Water looks clear but when I brush there is a greenish mist that you can see looks just like dust when you brush above ground
Do you have a full set of test results for us? I wrote it Down will edit when I can get to it.

3. Auto feeder, I assume you're using a solid chlorine product? I have 2 1/2 circle bars in there

It's a 15 gallon pool

Ok, I take it that's 15,000 gallons?

And the other information, such as test kit?

If you post up some fresh test numbers, we can perhaps offer info on whether you should be doing something differently. Without those, we can't make many suggestions. Besides the pollen, are you having other issues? Post back, and with test results so we can offer some help.
