I've made a hobby out of self troubleshooting and repairing my Hayward heater over the years... It's dead again and this time a burned out blower motor is the culprit. The new part is about $300, but I'm trying to decide if that's worth spending on a 13 yo heater?? I've heard of some pool heaters lasting up to 20 years, but I don't know how common that is with Hayward heaters? A new, professionally installed heater will run around $2500 - $2700 (leaning toward Raypak).
Opinions - repair or replace?
