DE with Calcium Bentonite

This is the first time that I have had to buy DE for use in the sand filter, as I was given a 5 gal bucket of it at work before. On the bag of DE it says it includes Calcium Bentonite. My question...is the bentonite enough to effect the sand filter's ability to work correctly or will it not have any affect on the filtering process?

That is not suitable for use with swimming pools. The DE is different than pool DE because it has not been heat treated and thus is not effective for filtering.
