First season with pool

So much for that crystal clear water. The saga continues. FC at 2230hrs 27.5 (getting impatient), FC at 0830hrs 25.5. I just can't image what is in there eating all this chlorine. Maybe the 40 degree water temp is not helping?
I was reading through and just wanted to say hang in there! I am currently in process of SLAMing too!
My pool has ring around the collar (above water line). What do I use to clean that up? I have scrubbed it with a brush just using pool water, no change.
I suppose I have turned a corner. FC was 23 and CC .5 this morning. I did not test last night, but 23 was the number I was shooting for last time I added chlorine. Water does not look any better. Will do ONCLT tonight.
Maybe backwash the filter to belp filter that stuff out. Are you backwashing after the filter pressure goes up 20-25%?
The sand is new and pressure has never gone up exept when I added DE. I did backwash a couple days ago for first time and again today.
I also don't like my pressure gauge and have ordered one from tftkits. However, shipping tracking had not changed from pick up four days ago.

Since the pool may be done sometime next month, I might as we'll pick up a free hot tub and get started on that.

Any experience with proteam clarifier? Says microflocer, but I'm not sure it is what I really wanted. Directions say to keep running filter. The videos and articles I read said to stop filter for 24 hours then vacuum when using flocking agent. Did I get wrong stuff?
Lol. The next post I read after mentioning flock says , " forget about it, it just adds more problems". I am desperate to have clear water now.
As I mentioned above, I used Proteam Microfloc in my pool. I know it should not be needed, however I am still desperate to have clear water. Anyway, after using I stopped pump for 24 hrs and then vacuumed to waste. Prior to vacuuming the water was not crystal clear as I would have expected. It was clear enough for me to see the brush head on the bottom through the fog. After vacuuming and restarted the pump, the water is still cloudy, but slightly less. The Microfloc must have done its job in the since that I can now see the large particles flowing in the water. Any guess how long it will take my sand filter to clear it up? I still don't think filter even filters.
