I'm a small pool construction company and a homeowner is wanting his auto cover trek to be along the top of the pool wall basically with mortar and coping stone on top. Has anyone actually done this? Will he have issues with cracking in the mortar?
I removed the old coping and to get the new stone flush I have approx 3.5" from top of the stone to the top of the wall. The stone he and his wife want is 1"1/4 inches wide. So his motive is to eliminate such a big mortar joint by having the trek(7/8-1") between the coping and beam.
I have concerns about cracking down the line...thoughts?
