We let our pool go this winter, and I have a swamp for the first time ever. :(

FC 0
CC 0
pH 8.2+? A magenta color I have never seen before when testing
TA 30
CH 30
CYA 0 completely clear with tube filled up

I want to confirm that the order I should go is to get the pH to 7.5-7.8, then get CYA to 30-40, then start adding bleach to SLAM. When should I raise TA? And it is ok for CH to be so low, correct? I have a vinyl liner.

Is there an amount of time I should wait between each step? Thanks in advance for your help!

Get the PH figured out and lowered to around 7.2 to 7.4. Then raise TA to 70. Then start adding CYA. Then SLAM away.

Wait half an hour after adjusting PH and then retest to be sure you go it right. Then you can do TA and CYA at the more or less the same time and start SLAMing directly afterwards. SLAM level is 10 for the first 24 hours, and then goes up to the SLAM level that corresponds to the CYA level you targeted.

Low CH is just fine. Vinyl pools don't need CH.
