Petrol Gel Lubricant?

Ok. I have a question to add to this. Would this work? If not, why?

It is a petroleum based, food grade, o-ring lube I use for beer kegs.

No, you never want to use petroleum based products. Over time they will cause the material the o-rings are made of to break down and fail much earlier than it otherwise would.

Ok. Just wondering. It is curious that they make such a product for a food service environment, including rubber o-rings. Pretty sure I would rather accidentally ingest silicone or Teflon before that stuff. It is water right, and stays together very well. You have to wipe it off to get it off.

Most pool O-rings are EPDM and most beer keg O-rings are Neoprene.

Petroleum products should not be used on EPDM material, but petroleum based lubes are recommended for Neoprene.
