No from the picture the OP had that part will stay. He is removing the nature 2 and want's to add a tee. From the picture the male side is molded into the unit on both sides, that will be the part of the union he will need.

Where do you guys recommend putting the injection port... Suction side or return side. ? Since I cant find those unions I was thinking I could just cut a tee in before the nature 2 and leave it there abandoned.

It is ideal to put the chlorine injection last, after the heater, filter, whatever else you may have on the pressure side.
Jason what are your thoughts on leaving my nature 2 inline abandoned ? Also generally what is the pressure on the return side? The stenner pump I bought is the low pressure model without a check valve.

Leaving the Nature2 in is alright, especially if you remove the cartridge.
Pool returns usually run 10 to 20 psi, though 0 to 40 psi is possible in theory, low enough that the low pressure version of the Stenner is fine. It is nice to have the check valve, but is not essential.
