Our pool was opened this week and is a swamp. I'm slamming it and it's starting to clear. But it's slow. PH was ok before slam. Should I do anything to PH during slam or ignore til I'm done?
Yes, ignore pH. The test is inaccurate when FC is over 10. Because pH in most pools drifts up slowly, lowering pH to the low 7s before starting the SLAM helps counter the rise.
Thank you! I'm watching the FC like a hawk today. Day three of slamming the swamp and its holding a lot better. My dog chewed up the reagent I need to test CC so I don't know what to do about testing CC to see if I'm done with the slam. Bad dog!
BUT . . . if before you add you find you've dropped below 10 you can always do a quick adjustment to the pH. When you say it was "good" . . where were you at ??
