I have a Shasta pool with popups. They move the dirt around, but after the pump runs all night the pool is very dirty in the morning. Also, this time of year we have these little pieces of pollen?? get into the pool. I can see them shooting out of the popups as I am manually vacuuming the pool. The suction on the manual vacuum is great. I bought the house and the pool was here. I don't know if this popup system is just junk or if I have some kind of problem. I am about ready to try and figure out how to disable the system and just run a robotic vacuum, but figured I would see if anybody had any ideas. thanks

It sounds like something is wrong with your filter. Nothing visible should be abel to get through the filter. What kind of filter do you have and how has the filter pressure been behaving?

I have a four cartridge system and I think my pressure gauge is broken. Maybe I'm just not getting much pressure, but the manual vacuum sure has a lot of suction
Pool pressure gauges tend to be cheaply made and break. There are some fancier oil filled versions that last longer, but hardly anyone uses them.
