Can you loosen/unscrew that outer steel ring and readjust the eyeball?

stick a screwdriver in it and use the handle as leverage to repoint the eyeball.

I thought about trying to twist the outer ring, but it was too slick - maybe with a strap wrench? I may also try the screwdriver, but that seems like it carries a high likelihood of damage.

A small towel or washrag will usually give enough grip to loosen it.

Ive used the screwdriver on mine probably 50 times without an issue. But thats just me I guess....

go for the strap wrench if your antsy about it.
