How to add baking soda?

Just curious... if I need to increase my alkalinity with baking soda, how do I add the baking soda to the pool? Do I need to mix it with water? Do I just sprinkle it in the deep end? Thanks in advance for your help!

Predisolve it in a bucket then pour it in around the perimeter of the pool.

Easiest way is to just pour it into the skimmer. It will dissolve pretty fast.

If you pour it into the skimmer, make sure to remove your basket and pour it in slowly (especially if you use skimmer socks with your skimmer). Otherwise, you could temporarily clog up the basket and then bad things happen (like broken baskets). Don't ask me how I know this...
