Why is my pool turning green?

My pool water is in the 40's (I live I in NJ) and it's turning green, and from what I understand, algae grows once the water hits 60. Why is algae growing? One thing I have to note, I don't know if it matters or not, I did not cover my pool this year (that's another topic).

Have you raked out all the "stuff" from the bottom yet ?

Are you seeing green on the liner and or is it just the water ?? Can you post a photo or two of the green ??

Algae still grows ... just at a much slower rate.

Post up test results and you will likely have your answer.

hmmmm, you learn something every day. can't do much until the weekend, by then it will probably green molasses.
