I have a pool that has 1 in piping going to the skimmer and the dedicated suction line. This results in not being able to get good enough flow to run the skimmer and the vacuum effectively at the same time. The timer box has a second intermatic timer available from an old booster pump. Is there a way to wire a valve actuator to that timer so that i can run the skimmer and the vac separately for a couple hours a day. Thanks!

There is indeed "a way" but it may be a little more of a project that you might imagine. You will need a SPDT relay that can be switched by the timer, a 24 volt AC power supply and some kind of enclosure to protect them from the weather.
