Autopilot digital spontaneously enters superboost mode

I installed a pool pilot DIG-36 this year but it's been giving me trouble.

When I do my daily/weekly pool checks, I'll frequently see that it's jumped into "Superboost Mode" all by itself. I can turn it off by hitting the boost button, and things return to normal . . . until the a few days later, when it's in Superboost again.

I can't find anything in the manual that would explain this, it's throwing my chlorine and ph off, and I'm worried I'm going to wear out the cell prematurely. Any ideas? Do I have a defective unit that needs to be returned?

Please contact AutoPilot customer service on this. It may be that the circuit board is not aligned and allowing the BOOST button to be resting on the mounting plate...or something else.
