variable speeds always trip GFI breaker?

Was reading a old post-"Does an Intelliflo variable speed pump need a GFI breaker?"

I was told by a warranty pool repairman that GFIs cause probles with variable speed pumps, something about constant rpm changes that trips GFI every day. He said that since my light has GFI I should be ok.
    Any thoughts?

While variable speed pumps tripping GFCI breakers does come up now and then, it isn't a common problem. Most installs work just fine.
