Re: eggman's pool build

The pool will go from 3' 9" on the spa end to 5' 3" on the other end.

Looks very nice! I must have missed 2 things: 1) I don't see the "existing pea gravel deck" in the photos, and 2) what is the depth of the pool?
You're not blind. After the patio was completed my genius wife suggested that we pour a "cooking surface". It's 7' from wall to yard in the area where I cook. The part to the right is 4' wide and goes around the corner and 20' down the side of my house.

That's where I store the gas grill, wood box and The Beast® so they don't clutter up the patio.

We've also added a 6" gutter the length of the patio with 4"x3" down spouts on the first and third pillars - as can be seen in the more recent pictures. They will be tied into the pool drainage and routed out to the street.

Re: eggman's pool build

Here's the latest update ...

Electrical from transformer in the backyard to the house needs to be moved.

Pre-Ike (September 9-10) I got 3 bids for the job. Post-Ike every electrician within 500 miles is busy. The one we chose is going to do the work next Tuesday (September 30).

After his work is inspected I need to contact my provider (CenterPoint) to have them do the disconnect/reconnect. There's the rub ... CenterPoint still has 500K customers without power after Ike ... I doubt very seriously that a disconnect/reconnect so I can build a pool is going to see the light of day for quite a while.

Re: eggman's pool build

It's a small thing ... but it's a step forward. The electrical was rerouted today.

Hopefully I'll have a green flag tomorrow and can schedule CenterPoint to come out and make the switch to the new line.

City of Pearland permits are ready to go so, once the power is switched, we can dig a hole.

PS - the fence is still down after Ike ... we're waiting on the insurance adjuster. Nice thing is - I don't have to tear anything down to get the digging equipment in ... it's already down. :-D
