NEC wiring requirements clarification needed

I have two questions about NEC requirements for pool wiring.

1. My understanding is that I need two convenience outlets. Do these have to be waterproof and twist lock?
2. Can I wire pump directly to a timer, or do I must have a twist lock plug to plug the pump in?

Thanks, any clarification would be highly apprectiated, and suggestion where to get them, maybe a photo or two would also be helpful.

One convenience outlet is required, additional outlets are allowed, more than 10 feet from the water, some kind of weather protection, conventional not twist lock.

Hard wiring the pump/timer is fine. If there is a pump outlet it must be twist-lock, but there doesn't need to be an outlet.
