    Hot surface Ignitor interchange

    I have a 10+ year old Jandy LX400. one of the ignitor wires broke and I subsequently shattered the ignitor working on it.

    Anyways, This looks like a standard off the shelf $20 furnace ignitor with a long wire. Has anybody tried to use something like this and just splice the wires below the pan?

    Here is the Jandy part recommended by the manual

    But here is mine, actually looks more like the first one:

    Yes you could do that.

    A word of caution: When working with gas and electrical you might want to consider a licensed contractor. Consider the value of your life and others around you.
