About to close on a new house. With a pool!

I bought a Taylor K-2006, and some borate test strips in preparation for taking over the pool.

You're well on your way then. That's a good kit for normal maintenance. If the pool needs adjusting in the CYA department or has algae issues, you may need more reagents than the standard K-2006 kit has but those are pretty easy to find if you need them. tftestkits.net is a great place for reagents with quick delivery in the US.

Sure sounds like you way WAY ahead of a typical new member. Very refreshing. :D

How does the gauge look on the filter? If you are ordering refills from tftestkits, I highly recommend the glycerin gauges that they also sell ... combine to reduce shipping. Also, the SpeedStir is well worth the investment.

When do you get to close and get hands-on?

Yes, you might, and that's one reason we suggest the TF100. You get a lot more bang for the buck with more of the exact same reagent.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on getting control of your pool early. SO many come later with issues to fix.
