    leaky Hayward c1200

    I have a similar issue. The top of the canister doesn't sit completely snug with the screw top tight, and under pressure, the top tilts to one side and there is a leak. How can I shorten the center rod? I've tried using vise grips to see if I can screw it in more but it's not moving?

    How big is the gap between the knob and the lid? If it is really narrow, you may be missing the teflon/plastic washer that fits on the underside of the lid.
