Allergy to Chlorine

My 12 yr old son has an allergy to chlorine. It has been confirmed by an allergist. He gets severe hives. He does not even want to swim in our (or any) pool anymore. I was considering Ecosmarte, but according to what I've read here, that might not be so good at sanitizing. What are my options, pros and cons? Any suggestions? Thanks!

For a true chlorine allergy (which is rare) then your only choice IS a biguanide based sanitizer like Baqua, SoftSwim, Revacil, etc. Bromine is most likely not an option because it is closely related to chlorine and is a known sensitizer.
The only 3 EPA approved swimming pool santizers are chlorine, bromne, and biguanide. I would stay away from Ecosmarte or any other copper or copper/silver system since they DO need chlorine used with them to provide santized water.
