Dear forum members,

I have tested by pool water and my CH needs to be raised. It is currently measuring ~130ppm and I would like it around ~275ppm.

Checking pool math it seems I need to add something like 5kg of Calcium Chloride. The problem is (if I understand this right) that this will also raise my chlorine levels, quite a lot!

What's the best way to do it then, turnoff my SWG and add the calcium over a few day in many batches? Or is there some other way?

Thanks!

Calcium chloride will not raise chlorine levels at all. Calcium hypochlorite does raise chlorine levels along with calcium levels, but that is a different chemical. As long as you use calcium chloride you will be fine.
