    CYA Color Change test?

Not knowing much apart from basic chemistry, and certainly nothing about cost of production or the reagents, I wonder why this US patent filed by Taylor (scroll down to example 1) for producing a liquid color change assay for CYA never came to market in the K-2006? Does it exist in any other kit?

Built 1980, 19' x 30' almost rectangular, screened 15,000 gal, plaster, Hayward DE 3620 filter (currently using cellulose), Emerson 1081 1HP pump, AquaCal Heatwave SuperQuiet SQ110R heater, Zodiac T5 Cleaner, Taylor K-2006 test kit

    Re: CYA Color Change test?

Taylor isn't the only one trying to figure out how to do that. There are various companies that offer color changing CYA test strips. But none of them are even remotely as good as the black dot (cloudiness) test. The CYA test tends to be by far the least reliable of the test strip tests, none of which are all that good to begin with.
