The chain link is there still by code, it is the 1.5" mesh link, I went with black so it blends in with the background
fairly well. It also supports the sprinkler system I made out of PVC and these fan spray nozzles I picked up.
I drilled and tapped every 10" and installed a nozzel. then pianted the whole thing black. Now just turn on the water and walk away for 20 minutes. :-D

Looks great! Very nice setup....
I have to ask...I notice alot of window air conditioners in the photo...and your neighbors. But the homes don't look that old to not have Central Air...is there a reason everyone has window AC?

all the houses you can see were built in the early 50's. Atic space is about 2ft, and the heating is
baseboard hot water so there is no duct work in the house to retro fit central air.
Plus the HOT season here is only several weeks at most.
As a matter of fact at 6am this morning it was 48 degrees :evil:
