this motor is on a shopsmith. it runs fine when not under load. when under load it turns very slowly and then causes the circuit breaker to cut out. I have replaced the capacitor to no avail, same result.

Sounds like the equipment might be binding somewhere causing extra load on the motor. What type of equipment is this?
