Newbie: Advice on pool covers

Hi there I'm hoping someone may be able to help me. We just purchased a home with a pool and are looking to buy an automatic pool cover. There are several brands out there and I'm trying to figure out which is going to be our best option. We have looked at the brands "Pool Cover Specialist" and "Pool Safe" covers but I have been unable to find any comparisons of these two brands or any other brands regarding durability, customer service etc.
Does anyone have any experience/feedback with automatic pool covers?
Is the automatic cover worth the cost?

I am a total noob too, so take this for what it is worth. I know two different pool owners i work with that said they went with an automatic pool cover and both were disappointed and would not do it again. One said it broke in 1 year and had to be abandoned. I do not know the brand. Sorry that is not much, but trying to give back, many are helping me here.
