Do you need to weigh down the cover?

I see people with bricks or bleach jugs hanging from the cover in the winter. My cover came with the twist lock gizmo this year. Is it necessary to add weight to the cover?

Anyone? I added bleach jugs every 3 grommets when i put my cover on. Now the water is laying on top of the cover because of all the rain and its starting to pull at the cover a bit.

Should i periodically drain the water off the top throughout the winter?

Sorry nobody got to your question. Hanging the bleach jugs is fine. It'll help hold your cover down in high winds.
You can get a cover pump to pump the excess water off the cover. You can leave some on there to help hold the cover down if wind is a problem for you. I would pump some off though every now and then. ?
