I need Filter cleaning Help!

On our vacume there is a tee that attaches to the hose end that goes in the skimmer, on the tee there is a rubber cap that is slit like a X, The pull from the pump pulls in water through this rubber cap as well as through the hose. This keeps the hose and vacume head from getting to much suction. Hope that makes sense.
 
Sherri, the suction problem you are having is caused by having only 1 suction source for your pump. If you use a vac plate that fits over your skimmer basket, you can either drill a hole in the plate or wedge a small stick under it to help lessen the suction :idea:

If you try to vac with all the suction coming from the vac, you will have the issue you describe - aleiviating some of the pressure will allow you to vacuum without this problem :-D
