Intex 1500gph upgrade to Hayward DE 1hp

I have an intex 1500 GPS cartridge filter/pump on my pool. I have had it about 3 months and it has not impressed me. Trying to vacuum with it is a joke. I get acorns on my pool and it just pushes them around. On craiglsit there is a Hayward 1 hp DE filter system (ec40). The guy is asking $180 so I think I can talk him down some. Would this be a huge improvement and is that a decent price for a 2 yr old system?

Is this an AG system? $180 is pretty good price but it depends on the condition of the equipment.
