Pentair CCP420 or CCP520 for 28,000 pool?

Hello all, i'm in the process of doing a pool remodel here in Arizona. We have a 20+ year 28,000 gallon in ground pool. It's currently plaster and we are in the process of putting in a pebble sheen interior, adding a new bench, baja step, bult in table, LED light, dedicated suction line, automatic water leveler and new equipment. Last year I upgraded to the new Pentair variable speed pump which has been great! I just purchased the Pentair IC-40 to convert from chlorine to salt and now I'm trying to decide which filter to get.

My pool is 28,000 gallons and I currently have a sand filter. Trying to decide between the Pentair CCP420 or the Pentair CCP520. There is a good price difference between the two and i'm trying to decide if the 520 is worth the upcharge?

I also saw someone list a website http://poolandspasupply.com and they have the CCP520 for about $90 less than the next cheapest place I can find online. I have never ordered from http://poolandspasupply.com so i'm a little iffy. Has anyone else ordered from this site before? They do not have a resellerratings listing for reviews. The price is great, no sales tax, no shipping and they are close to Arizona. I'm just trying to see if anyone from TFP has ordered from this site before. If so, please post up your experience and what you bought.

Thanks all for the help. I'll be posting before, during and after photos of our remodel.

My thoughts on sizing a cartridge filter are look at the table in Hydraulics 101 and double the size. That puts you at 450 sq. ft. for a 28,000 gallon pool, so the CCP420 would be about right. The CCP520 could extend the time between cleanings of the filter cartridges. I'm not sure if it would be worth it.

I ordered a Hayward C3030 from http://poolandspasupply.com about six months ago. The filter arrived quickly, and I have had no problems with it.

I would have estimated a minimum size of 415sqft ... so either of those would be fine. Given that your pool will be open year round, I would opt for the bigger if the cost is not much more.

Please add your location (City, State or City, Country) to your profile and pool details to your signature as described HERE as it will help us help you.

Update:

I ordered the CCP520 filter yesterday from http://poolandspasupply.com and it shipped yesterday and was just delivered to my door. Less than 24hrs and it was delivered. I'll certainly buy from them again, thats highly impressive. Granted the distance was only from Las Vegas to Phoenix which is only a 1 day lead time. When I submitted the order yesterday I received the order confirmation with tracking number within 30 minutes.
I would recommend going with these guys for sure! Prices were $90 cheaper than the next best price I could find online. $799 for the Pentair CCP520 shipped to my door with free shipping.
