Right switch to wire a two speed pump

Hello,

I am replacing my 1HP MaxFlo pump motor with a two speed motor (STS1072RV1) and I need help to choose the correct switch to switch between low and high speed. I already have an intermatic T104m timer to turn it on and off. I know I can get a t106m timer to select the 2 speeds, but since I am not going to run it daily on both speeds, it is a waste of money to get a t106m. I was wanted to get a cheaper switch to change speeds.

A 3 way house light switch is cheap and easy to install in a water tight receptacle.

Jason, how many AMPs should be the switch rated?

How many amps is the motor rated for? Most of the 230V motors are under 15 amps which a standard light switch should be fine with.

It is 5.4 AMPs on high and 2.2 on low. 15A is enough, right?

Yes, 15 amps > 5.4 amps
